REVERSIBLE AIR FLOW EVAPORATORS
Colmac Coil has developed a line of Reversible Air Flow evaporator units to improve the performance of blast freezers/ coolers. Traditional blast freezers blow cooling air in one direction across the product the entire time. The result is a longer freezing time and a variation in product quality based on its placement in the freezer. The product furthest from the air entrance takes much longer to freeze and results in lower quality. Reversible Air Flow evaporators address this by changing the air flow direction during the freezing cycle. Switching the air flow direction places the coldest air on the product that was initially staged in the “back” of the freezer. This results in the batch being cooled evenly throughout, reducing freezing time and improving product quality
